ㅤGolmoreㅤ Eir and Reyna were born in a remote village within Golmore Jungle. Life was difficult, even moreso when they learned they were male and had to become Wood Warders. Eir became the warder of Heavenly Wind (Djt-Bidit) while Reyna became the warder of Earthly Wind (Rehw-Bidit), and protected their home for about four decades. An incident caused Reyna to be exiled from the jungle, and Eir left shortly after to find him.

ㅤDalmasca Coming to Rabanastre, Reyna started working as a mercenary, using Laurent as his city name. Eir, meanwhile, learned that he had a gift for prying information out of people, and became an informant named Gale. Gale manages to find Laurent after five years of searching, and they're both taken under the wing of an elderly Bangaa named Gemna. Gemna teaches them how to be assassins, as well as how to survive in a world outside the jungle, and she becomes their mentor, and someone they look back at fondly throughout the rest of their lives.

ㅤSaraabㅤ After Gemna passes a decade later, the two learn she was part of the Saraab, a group that works quietly in the shadows of Dalmasca to protect the crown and its people. Following in Gemna's footsteps, they decide to join the organization's ranks, working under Fran to keep Rabanastre safe.

ㅤResistanceㅤ When the Garleans invade and occupy Dalmasca, the two join the Dalmascan Resistance and help to fight back against the Empire. Laurent learns how to be a Gunbreaker from a roaming Bozjan mercenary, and takes to the vanguard of the fight. Gale, who knew going to the frontlines would be a death wish for him, instead learned to become a field medic and support the soldiers in his own way.

Echoㅤ Gale awakens to the Echo on the day of the Calamity, giving him enhanced physical and magical abilities. However, he thought the Echo and the visions it gave him were an 'affliction' of some sort. After an ill-timed Echo vision nearly gets him killed on the battlefield, he decides to heed his dreams' pleas to go to Eorzea, and leaves the Resistance without telling anyone of his plans, changing his name to Kris to obscure his identity. In time, his victories and heroism earn him a moniker he doesn't want—the Warrior of Light.

Reunionㅤ Four years after Kris leaves without a word to anyone, Kris and Laurent meet again during the campaign to free Bozja from Garlean rule. Tensions between the two were high at first—Laurent hadn't even known if his partner was alive or not until now, and Kris was trying to push Laurent away for his own safety. Eventually, though, the two reconcile and rekindle their relationship, putting their past mistakes behind them.

Championㅤ When Wuk Lamat comes to Sharlayan to entreat the Warrior of Light's help, Kris refuses—he does not want to be wrapped up in a political conflict in a land he knows nothing of, especially after nearly dying after his battle with Zenos. However, he realizes that going to a largely undocumented land would be a boon for Laurent's botany studies, so he convinces Laurent to be Wuk Lamat's champion in his stead.

ㅤPeaceㅤ After the world stops demanding everything from them, the two retire to Rabanastre after Laurent earns his Archon mark, obscuring Gale's identity as the Warrior of Light. Using his knowledge of botany, Laurent finds a way to grow flowers in the desert city, and they open a flower shop. They live out the rest of their days in peace, eventually adopting and raising a Hrothgar girl named Katerina.

Kris (aka Gale, Eir)

ㅤPersonalityㅤ As WoL, Kris is relatively withdrawn and prickly, a side effect of trying to hide his past. Even before this, however, Kris would often obscure his true feelings, using emotional masks and honeyed words to maneuver social situations to his advantage.Around people he trusts, Kris is chatty and playful, teasing his friends and husband while remaining amicable and kind.There are some insecurities hiding under the surface that play into his personality, but they rarely bubble up.

Personalityㅤ At a glance, Laurent strikes an intimidating figure. Quiet, stoic, and blunt, many think it better to make him angry—for the best, given his fighting skills.In reality, though, his brusque nature isn't due to his personality, but rather being unable to parse most social situations and simply not talking as a result.Anyone who gets to know Laurent will find that, while still a man of few words, he is kind, emotionally mature, and extremely protective of his friends and husband.
